THE FIRST QUESTION / CAN THEY FIND YOU?

AI Visibility.
Be understood before the first click.

AI visibility describes how your business appears when people use AI to explore a problem, compare options or choose who to contact. For a mortgage or property firm, those questions often begin with a client’s circumstances and location.

Your name is only one starting point.

Someone who already knows your firm may ask what you specialise in. Someone who has never heard of you might ask, “Which mortgage broker understands limited company directors?” These are different moments of discovery. A useful review separates branded questions from the commercial questions that could introduce a new client to your business.

An AI system may name a business, link to its website, cite a third-party source or provide a general answer without recommending any firm. Those outcomes need to be recorded separately. A mention, a citation, a website visit and an enquiry each tell you something different.

Where AEO, GEO and SEO fit.

AEO (answer engine optimisation) and GEO (generative engine optimisation) are terms used for work on visibility in answer-led and generative search experiences. At Digital Ella, AI Visibility is the practical umbrella: what appears, what sources support it and what you can improve.

Useful content, crawlable pages and clear business information remain foundations. Google’s guidance says SEO best practices still apply to its generative AI features. There is no special schema field or file that guarantees inclusion. Read Google’s AI optimisation guidance.

Measure a defined set of client questions.

Start with your actual services, the client situations you understand and the locations you serve. Agree the questions before looking at results, choose relevant competitors and record the date, system and conditions of each capture.

Digital Ella’s current numerical baseline counts captured citations per system. Branded and commercial questions are reported separately. The standard baseline uses one run per question per system; it does not establish how frequently a business would appear across every possible rerun.

Unavailable answers stay marked as missing coverage. If a question does not produce a Google AI Overview, that cannot be treated as proof that a competitor is beating you there. See the audit method and its limits.

Let the findings decide the work.

A useful recommendation identifies a gap and explains why the proposed change deserves attention. For example, an unclear specialist service page may need a better explanation of who the firm helps; conflicting business details may need correction; a technically inaccessible page may need repair.

Foundation provides a baseline and 5–7 priority actions. Growth adds deeper content, technical and authority analysis, with a 90-day roadmap. Implementation is available through a separately scoped Growth Sprint or ongoing partnership. Compare the AI Visibility Audits.

Discovery opens the door. Trust supports the decision.

Being mentioned does not tell a prospect whether you are the right person to help. They still need to understand your experience, services, process and limitations. That is the connection with Digital Trust: clear, consistent and credible business information.

We look at both sides of the journey: how a business appears in discovery, and what a prospective client can verify when they investigate it.
